Power a Cleaner Future

Most alkaline batteries don’t belong in the trash — and tossing them there can cause real environmental harm. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, batteries can contain metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, nickel and silver, which can pose a threat to human health or the environment when improperly managed at the end of their service life. ¹

The good news? Recycling batteries is simple, safe, and one of the easiest ways to live a little more sustainably in the new year.

Recycling helps recover valuable materials, keeps toxic metals out of landfills, and reduces the need for new resource extraction. It’s a small habit that adds up fast.

How You Can Help
  • Recycle used batteries properly at designated collection points or during e-cycle events
  • Choose rechargeable batteries when possible, to reduce waste
  • Store used batteries safely until you’re ready to recycle them
